Title
A name given to the resource
Battle of the Palouse - Losers Walk, 11-3-1959
Description
An account of the resource
Silent color film of University of Idaho (UI) students walking from UI to Washington State University (WSU) several days after UI's Oct. 24 1959 27-5 loss in the "Battle of the Palouse" football game. Starting in 1938, for many years it was a tradition that the student leadership and the newspaper staff from the school which lost the game would have to walk to the opponents' college, where they'd have to perform the victors fight song (seen here in the CUB).
This is a few minutes film from a 44 minute b-roll of general 1959 WSU campus events, including homecoming cheers and floats. As of the point of uploading, the film is as of yet not part of a processed collection at WSU MASC, but it has a pre-MASC identifier of "s-158 16mm wsu b-roll 1959".
