A photograph of a group of students, four women and two men, walking on the sidewalk in front of the old Post Office. The Students Book Corporation (Bookie) is visible the background. The Students Book Corporation (Bookie) was erected in 1923 at a cost of $29,185. Financed by the Associated Students, the original wood framed building with exterior brick stood in the site of the present Bookie. In addition to textbooks, the Bookie also contained the campus coffee shop. Inside a long soda fountain with levers provided students with fountain drinks, ice cream, coffee; and a dozed high-backed booths places to sit. In 1954, the original structure was razed and a new Bookie was build for $348,600, again financed by the Associated Students.
