2x3 negative. Photograph of Torakichi Sam Migita and other men making mochitsuki inside of Mess Hall 15-30, Heart Mountain Relocation Center, Wyoming. Migita is swinging a wooden mallet as another man in an apron turns and stretches the mochi. Mochitsuki is a traditional food for New Years. In 1945, the lunar new year (Chinese New Year) fell on February 13.
