Letter 2 06/1863
In this letter, Fuller describes his departure from New Orleans to Fort Monroe on Chesapeake Bay. Fuller also recounts his transfer to the steamer Maple Leaf and a Confederate mutiny, leading to the escape of several Confederate prisoners. Fuller also clarifies his decision not to escape based on his poor health and the decent treatment on the part of the Union.
